At long last we are having autumn weather. Where we live in Japan the weather quickly
goes from hot to cold with a very short autumn.
In northern parts of Japan, the autumn season is more glorious and
longer. Here you have to look quick or
miss it. I love this season and
sometimes feel cheated that it is so short.
I remember being on a home assignment in the Midwest in the autumn. Seeing the glorious colors God displayed was
thrilling. Walking in the leaves was
fun. The air was crisp and refreshing. Today as I went shopping with mom, I saw
colors. I felt a crispness in the
air. I was glad to be outside with a
jacket and enjoy the beauty and refreshment after a very long, hot summer. Thank you, Lord, for this gift!
Oh, dear Jeffrey...I so enjoyed your thoughts on the season Fall. I, too, love the array of colors that GOD paints; each type of tree has a different shade of red, orange, dark green, purple... In Minnesota where Tom and I live now, in Hugo, we are blessed to still have lush green grass, when it peeks out from under the fallen leaves. Tom and I were married on 9/27/63, so that is another reason the Fall is meaningful to me. We have had an unusual season of fall this year. It's Nov. 10, it drizzled abit today, put even now, at 10 pm, it is 45* F. Now that I, (we) have adopted a doggie), she was "rehomed" which means she needed a new home to go to live with another famiIy am out in the weather much more. She is a 2yr. Shiszu, brownish, dark redish and a little black mixed in places. I am so thankful to be able to have a small doggie in our house. I am the main "caregiver" as Uncle Tom is not as steady on his feet as he once was. He is going to special PT meetings and learning some new exercises to get back as much of his balance as possible,
ReplyDeletePlease pray that God would grant him the ability to use all of his power to achieve better health/balance.
